Huge profit rise for Card Factory

Value greetings card retailer, Card Factory has posted a big rise in annual profits.

The retailer, which has stores in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud and Cirencester, posted a 25% rise in pre-tax profits to £65.6m for the year to January 31, up from £52.4m the last year.

Sales were up 10% to £510.9m, as reported by Retail Gazette, boosted by a 7.7% rise in like-for-like store sales.

The retailer attributed its success to development of its store layout, customer experience and product ranges, across cards, gifts and 'celebration essentials'.
