Man charged with intent to damage property at Muller Severnside Dairy

A 26 year old North Wales man is to stand jury trial charged with intending to destroy or damage property at the Muller Severnside Dairy in Stonehouse, near Stroud, by using superglue.

Osian Dixon of Corris, Machynlleth, Powys, appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates last week accused of having superglue with intent to cause damage at the dairy in Oldends Lane, Stonehouse, on September 4, 2022.

The charge alleges that he intended to use the superglue himself or to cause or permit another to use it to damage property.

The magistrates committed the case to Gloucester Crown Court for trial and granted him unconditional bail pending his first appearance there on May 23.

It was in September 2022 that the climate action group Animal Rebellion blockaded four dairies, including Muller at Stonehouse, by climbing onto trucks, milk silos and loading bays as part of a campaign for a plant-based food system.

Muller operates sites in Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset.
